PVA Events & Promotion Supervisor, Performing & Visual Arts Dept.

School of Humanities & Social Science s

The job-holder is responsible for the planning and management of marketing, promotion and publicity of all PVA productions and events including major theatre product ions, student theatre projects, concerts and recitals, gallery exhibitions, films series and mini festivals, seminars, lectures and other special events. Other responsi bilities include maintaining hard-copy mailing lists and email lists for PVA as well as the units of Theatre, Music, Art and Film, maintaining a publicity deadline schedule, keeping open communications with PVA Faculty, devising and implementing audience dev elopment plans for Theatre, Music, Art and Film in addition to supervising a crew of student assistants.

Requirements: University Degree preferably with a marketing specialization. 3-5 years in the fiel d of job related assignments. Previous experience should relate to at least one of the areas of artistic production and include interaction with print-shops and graphic designing. Computer skills; Macintosh format preferred, Excel, Word, Adobe Photoshop, ill ustrator, Freehand, Painter, and database management (File-maker Pro). Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and spoken. Interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving skills and initiative. Artistic sense and an interest in promoting the arts.
